Often, large belt buckles are reserved for western-style clothing, such as on a belt or as a closure on accessories like handbags. But western clothing and accessories aren’t the only place for large belt buckles and now the world of high fashion is embracing this look. Recently, handbag blog The Purse Blog reviewed new wallets by Fendi which, like many western handbags and wallets, are seen with a large buckle closure on the front. These particular wallets seen on The Purse Blog are designed for an ‘80s look, complete with gaudy neon and bold colors and a large metallic buckle, much like various belts designed during the ‘80s.
While these Fendi wallets generally got mixed reviews on the blog, some calling it appropriate with a staid or solid color outfit, others calling them simply gaudy and ‘80s trashy, they’re another aspect of fashion bringing western fashion to the forefront. Mainly, the large belt buckle which, these days, is seen primarily in western fashion, gives it the western flair and doesn’t make it simply an ‘80s-style wallet printed with a Fendi logo.
Actual western style wallets in affordable price ranges can be found on Best Handbag Wholesale. These particular wallets, such as the one seen in the picture above, use western style by combining a leather body in dark brown or black for the body of the wallet with a large belt buckle. For a bit of flair, many of the belt buckle closures on these wallets are embellished with smaller rhinestones. One popular trend, also as seen on the Fendi wallets, has been a patent leather appearance for both handbags and wallets. While the western wallets on Best Handbag Wholesale stick with a soft leather appearance and feel, they have the look of a large belt buckle, which keeps the wallet and checkbook holder closed.
