What’s so unique about a plain leather handbag? With the latest trends, not a thing. The handbag needs some embellishment but not enough that it turns into a big tacky mess. But, what if you want a solid color handbag? In this case, the latest trend to fit your tastes is a textured leather handbag, preferably in black. This can be done through several ways: leather that has been textured, such as through quilting, or through black colored studs. Stars, when out and about, are seen with both types of handbags. From quilted Chanel handbags to brands that use black-on-black, a textured handbag is still a solid color but has some character.

One style recently seen on Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt is a black leather bag with large pyramid studs. This particular bag carried by Hewitt is somewhat eco-chic, being made out of old leather jackets, but the style itself gives an ordinary bag some dimension. Similarly, Twilight actress Ashley Greene was seen with a bubble-style purse by Dolce and Gabbana. The material has a texture almost like bubble wrap but isn’t meant for being squeezed. In both cases, the handbags are basic black but are given an all-around texture to seem more than two-dimensional.

A similar type of textured black handbag is reptile print, either real or printed on leather, such as these black crocodile handbags at Best Handbag Wholesale. The handbag, a solid black color, has a texture through the animal print used all over. As having an ordinary black handbag is no longer in fashion, adding some texture to your handbag is important. If reptile print isn’t your thing, another option is to add studs or rhinestones to a handbag – in silver or black – to give it some character.
