It may not be a major concern in the sunnier areas of the country, but the Northern part of the U.S. is currently bracing for the cold, cold breath of winter to sweep over. Winter’s official start won’t be here for a few weeks yet, but we’ve already dealt with a few snow storms already. Aside from safety preparations, there is a major concern that faces us during this time of year – what do we wear?
Amongst the overstuffed coats covering up our outfits and the unflattering red faces the wind will cause, there are options to stay stylish in the wintertime. Here are some of the best choices for your winter fashion:
The Essentials – Your winter wardrobe may be lacking in the big items, but don’t forget to start with the basics. Winter accessories like scarves can really add an element of depth to an outfit, especially in that tricky time in late fall when it starts to feel like winter. If you love winter hats, a selection of western rhinestone beanies will also be great to have on hand. Keep one in the car just in case it starts snowing!
The Right Jackets – A winter coat is an absolute must during freezing temperatures, but don’t get one that simply puffs up and makes you look like a blueberry. Think slim and check out coats that have a defined center, hugging your waist at the appropriate level. A parka jacket is the right call here for a more casual look. If you need something more professional, you can never, ever go wrong with a well-made peacoat. They look wonderful over any outfit.
Leggings – If you like to have an abstract and creative element in your wardrobe, leggings are your best bet. There are literally hundreds of different styles and patterns for leggings, no matter what type of style you are looking for. Best of all – they will keep your legs warm!
