Do you ever miss a phone call because you cell is tucked away in your purse? According to the company Trellie, more than 80 percent of women carry their cell phone in their purse. Of those women, more than 50 percent will miss calls daily because they do not hear their phone ring or vibrate. Trellie is developing a new handbag accessory that will alert its owner that their phone is ringing.
The small, sleek, pager-like accessory clips onto a purse, clutch, or even diaper bag. When your phone receives a call, the accessory, also named “Trellie,” will light up and blink to alert you to the call. For whatever reason, once a cell phone goes into a person, it seems to deafen any sound or vibrations. This new stylish and simple product will make sure you do not miss any important phone calls. A mother will not miss an important call from her children, and business woman will not miss a business call.
At only 2.5 inches tall and about one inch deep, Trellie is not a burden to your bag. It will not weigh it down and will not hinder the look. Now, if you are walking with your bag or have it down next to you, the bright blinking light will alert you to an incoming call. The idea was thought of by Claude Aldridge in early 2012. Since quitting his job at a venture capital firm to pursue his product full time, Aldridge has been assembling a team to help build his start-up.
Aldridge is teamed up with Trellie co-founder Jason Reid. They have recently worked out deals to get Ron LeMay, former CEO of Sprint’s wireless division and Anita Newton, former vice president of marketing at AMC Theatres, on board with the company.
The Trellie will require only two AAA batteries and will be able to connect to any Bluetooth-enabled phone. If the company’s Kickstarter campaign goes well, they hope to obtain enough funding to launch the product nationally in the second quarter of this year.
