Who knows what Miley Cyrus is carrying around in this
fur messenger handbag, but the juxtaposition of the particular bag and the dog she’s carrying seems kind of odd. Although the fur used in the Rick Owens handbag isn’t specified – and can’t be dug up online – the look of fur, real or fake, seems to be one of the latest trends seen recently. Think back to the various Fashion Week posts we did. How many of the handbags seen, particularly in the lines by Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, that incorporated fur in some form? Although using fur is somewhat of a contested issue (think back a few weeks ago to the Olympics and male figure skater Johnny Weir’s costume), designers now seem to think of it as an extension of the various animal prints we saw all over the place last year.
If you can’t afford a fur handbag (and how many of us can?), the logical alternative is to find something made of fake fur or of a “lesser” animal, such as cowhide. At Best Handbag Wholesale, many recent styles have been made from cowhides, including limited edition bags and those with a bit more texture. For the latter, this cowhide handbag has the same shaggy and furry look at Cyrus’ bag but on a smaller scale.
The limited edition cowhide handbag, on the other hand, combines a closer-cropped texture with the natural colors of cowhide. This particular bag, in addition to being made from natural cow skin, is embellished with various western ornaments. As western style is in right now, why not combine the two styles for a unique look? This particular bag has studs and rhinestones on the exterior, as well as a large cross at the center.
